Skill Building “I” Statements

A fight could result from each of the situations below.

By using an “I” statement, you may be able to resolve the conflict peacefully.

If using any part of the “I” statement feels “fake” or “phony,” write out whatever you are comfortable saying.

Just remember at all times to be respectful and specific about both your feelings and how you would like to see the problem solved.

Your sister’s playing music so loud, it’s interfering with your telephone conversation in the next room.
